Sustainability

Path to carbon neutrality by 2035

We take our climate responsibility seriously and actively implement sustainability in our operations. With a goal of being climate neutral by 2035, we have set concrete measures and intermediate targets to reduce our emissions. For us, taking climate responsibility seriously means that we see the climate issue as important as economic goals and that we adapt our entire operations accordingly Emission levels have been decided.

Our definition of climate neutrality means that we reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by 85 percent compared to our base year 2019 and we remove remaining emissions during the same financial year, for example with negative emissions.

Direct and indirect impact counts

We have an ambitious climate target to become climate neutral by 2035, which includes our direct emissions (scope 1), our indirect emissions from energy (scope 2) and indirect emissions from the entire value chain (scope 3), with intermediate targets to reduce emissions by 40 per cent by 2025 and 65 per cent by 2030.

We will be transparent and open about what emissions look like and share our way forward to enable a sustainable transition. Our emission reductions must be in accordance with science to limit global warming to 1.5-2 degrees.

Climate budget for transparency about the way forward

We call it the climate bid. A way for us to report and make visible how we step by step, year by year, are moving forward towards the goal of being climate neutral by 2035.

Being transparent about our way forward is a way to clarify both for ourselves but also for the industry at large how we are moving forward. It is an important policy instrument for our entire business and it is through it that we set limits for permitted emissions in the future.
