Akademiska Hus is investing to adapt two existing buildings at Frescati Hage to Amerikanska Gymnasiet, which will gradually move in and establish long-term establishment in the area over the coming years. In total, it is a leasable area of approximately 3,200 m2 that will undergo a general modernization and upgrade. The reconstruction of the first building will be completed in connection with the start of the term in August, when Amerikanska Gymnasiet opens its operations in the area for the first time. The second building is expected to be completed in stages, with occupancy in 2024 to 2026.
"We are very excited about how the campus in Frescati Hage will develop in the coming years. This is an academic dream location in Stockholm with fantastic premises," says Peter Heddelin, CEO of Amerikanska Gymnasiet.
The development of Frescati Hage
In connection with Stockholm University moving parts of its operations to the new campus area Albano, the opportunity opens up for Akademiska Hus to welcome new tenants with links to education and research to Frescati Hage. It offers access to a cohesive cultural environment in a scenic and attractive location next to Brunnsviken and the National City Park. To make the campus area alive at all hours of the day, Akademiska Hus will soon begin another renovation to create new student housing at Frescati Hage.
"Campus Frescati Hage is in a very exciting development phase, where we as property owners look forward to welcoming a variety of new businesses to the area, such as Amerikanska Gymnasiet. This will add another piece of the puzzle to create a continued competitive campus that is buzzing with life and movement," says Anna Alsborger, Property Director at Akademiska Hus.
