NitroCapt is already a member of Green Innovation Park – Akademiska Hus and SLU's joint venture with the aim of offering a stimulating and value-creating arena for meetings between academia, business and society. Now NitroCapt is facing a major upscaling of its operations – something that is possible thanks to Green Innovation Park's large variety of premises.
"We look forward to welcoming NitroCapt to even larger premises in Ultuna. It is a company that, with its innovation and clear focus on the sustainable transition, will further contribute to strengthening Ultuna's green profile," says Josef Mård, acting property manager at Akademiska Hus.
"For us, Green Innovation Park is a natural choice because we are a green innovation company with strong links to research at SLU. The premises are excellent and we get good service to adjust the premises to our needs at Akademiska Hus," says Björn Lindh, Head of Strategy at NitroCapt.
Innovative company that can grow at Ultuna
NitroCapt is working to create a sustainable and cost-effective green nitrogen fertilizer with zero emissions – this is done using air, water and renewable energy. It is a potential revolution for agriculture that is needed in the transition to a more sustainable world.
"We need fertilizer to feed a growing population, and nitrogen is the most commonly used plant nutrient. But today, the nitrogen fertilizer industry is fossil dependent and CO2 emissions are at the same levels as the global aviation industry, 500 million tons per year! says Björn Lindh, Head of Strategy at NitroCapt.
In November 2022, NitroCapt was named the winner of the prestigious innovation competition Startup4Climate at the UN Climate Climate Summit. The competition is aimed at young companies that can use their ideas to accelerate the energy transition and limit global warming.
