New construction · Tisdag 16 maj, 2023

Forum Medicum in Lund is now ready

After three years of construction, Forum Medicum has now been handed over to Lund University. The new building will enable the co-location of medical and health science education and research and will be an important part of the Faculty of Medicine's future development.

Construction of Forum Medicum has been ongoing since May 2020 and includes 16,000 square meters of new construction and 7,800 square meters of reconstruction of the Biomedical Center (BMC) at Sölvegatan in Lund. The purpose of the new building is to meet the Faculty of Medicine's need for state-of-the-art premises for education, research and offices, and to take advantage of valuable opportunities for new forms of collaboration between the faculty's programmes in medicine, health and care. A total of 4,000 students, researchers and staff will be based here. At the same time, the new building means that the space will be more open and inviting, something that will make the activities in Forum Medicum more accessible to the outside world.

The project comprises an investment of SEK 820 million and is one of the largest investments that Akademiska Hus and the university have ever made together.

Sydsvenskan, Skånska dagbladet and Lundagård, among others, were present when the house was unveiled to the press in April.
