Ahead of Huddinge Municipality making a formal decision on the new zoning plan within Campus Flemingsberg in the autumn, ByggVesta is buying land from Akademiska Hus and the Clara Foundation. The goal is that the 800 new student housing, together with new premises and pleasant blocks, will create a modern and attractive campus environment. The project has been worked on since 2016 and now has a design that meets the students' needs and complements the area's current housing and activities.
- The construction of more student and researcher housing is a prerequisite for the development of higher education institutions and for no one to have to opt out of education or services due to a lack of housing. Akademiska Hus works in several different ways to contribute to an increase in student housing construction, including by selling land to other actors," says Anna Alsborger, Property Director at Akademiska Hus.
ByggVesta expects the detailed planning process to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2023 and that construction can be planned to start in the spring of 2024. The project's first phase of approximately 400 apartments is expected to be completed over a period from the end of 2025 to mid-2026.
