Akademiska Hus welcomes Rivus Batteries as a new tenant at Medicinaregatan 8B on Medicinareberget in Gothenburg. Rivus Batteries is an innovative start-up company that develops advanced battery solutions with a special focus on sustainable energy systems. Their battery technology is based on so-called organic flow batteries, which means that energy is stored in liquid electrolytes that circulate through the battery cells. This allows for the efficient storage of large amounts of energy without the use of rare or conflict-grade metals, making the technology both more environmentally friendly and more sustainable compared to traditional battery solutions. The company works with battery cells that require carefully controlled environments, including testing in nitrogen-filled and oxygen-free containers, to ensure optimal function and safety.
The choice of premises at Medicinareberget came naturally to Rivus Batteries thanks to the strong connection to the innovative ecosystem at Medicinareberget, where several other startups are already established. The premises offer flexibility, modern facilities and the specific laboratory environment required for the company's operations.
"The move here means that we end up in the middle of a context where innovation and research thrive, and that suits us perfectly. Here we have the right conditions and networks for us to grow and develop," says Cedrik Wiberg, CEO and founder of Rivus Batteries.
Medicinaregatan and Medicinareberget will thus continue to be strengthened as an important place for innovation and development in the Gothenburg region.
"We are very pleased to be able to offer Rivus Batteries a place that meets their needs and at the same time promotes collaboration and creativity," says Tony Wolf, property manager at Akademiska Hus.
