General information

The Origo physics building is the oldest building at Chalmers, built in 1926. On the east facade there are 8 busts of people who have been important to Swedish physics and chemistry success: Svante Arrhenius, Anders Ångström, Johan Carl Wilcke, Anders Celsius, Torbern Bergman, Carl Wilhelm Scheele, Jöns Jacob Berzelius and Alfred Nobel On the south facade there is a sundial, which shows the time during the months of the year. The entire Chalmers area is included in Gothenburg Municipality conservation program and the buildings around Fysikgården belong to the buildings that have been assessed as particularly valuable from a cultural and historical point of view.
