General information

At Gothenburg University's 100th anniversary, a donation was handed over from the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation to enable the construction of a larger assembly hall. The aim was to add a large auditorium to the existing Lyktan restaurant building so that the facility as a whole could function as a conference facility. After rebuilding the Lyktan part in 2002, the building has become a purely conference facility. The Wallenberg hall with 350 seats and the large foyer for exhibitions have, together with the restaurant, the smaller auditorium and the group rooms in the Lyktan section, created a conference facility that responds to a versatile use. The Wallenbergsalen part of the building was awarded in 1994 with the Concrete Element Association's Architecture Prize.
