General information

House Terra houses the Norwegian Road and Transport Research Institute (VTI) and Norwegian Geotechnical Institute (SGI). VTI is a national research institute in the road and transport area and is owned by the state. SGI belongs to the Ministry of the Environment and works with research and information on geotechnical issues.

The building dates from 1975 and is one of the oldest on Campus Valla. The house's eastern facade is also a colorful work of art signed by the artist Jacob Dahlgren. The facade painting stretches 270x12 meters and is divided into a number of color fields that give the viewer different experiences when walking along the building. The house was modernized in 2001-2002.
