When Musikhögskolan was built in 2004, a magnificent space for creative expression was created on campus. The building is used by Sweden's future music teachers and musicians, but it also hosts instruction in visual arts and drama. The building houses a spectacular concert hall, a specialised library, music studios, rooms for visual arts and ceramics, and 48 individual practice rooms.
Musikhögskolan is divided into four sections with two intersecting glass corridors that lead to the surrounding forest, which is visible from almost anywhere in the building. This design provides a harmonious connection between nature and creative work. Musikhögskolan was also Akademiska Hus's first environmentally certified building, emphasising its commitment to sustainability and eco-conscious design.
Musikhögskolan is not only a place for education but also a meeting place for culture and art. The integrated nature and modern facilities make it a unique and inspiring environment for both students and teachers.
