The School of Business, Economics and Law consisted of several buildings. The first were completed in the 1950s and were designed by Sture Ljungqvist and Carl Nyrén, and in the mid-90s the original buildings were supplemented with several new buildings, including auditoriums and the economic library.
In the spring of 2020, the Carl Nyrén building on the corner of Vasagatan – Haga Kyrkogata was demolished to make way for a new building. The School's programmes are attractive and among the most sought after at the University of Gothenburg. The new building will create more flexible spaces for both staff and students, and will also make it possible to gather the entire School under one roof. The new building for the School of Business, Economics and Law is planned to be completed in 2027.
