The Segerstedt Building is perfectly located between Uppsala Castle, the Botanical Garden and Blåsenhus, centrally located in the Uppsala University area. This is where the university's management and administration have been housed since the building was completed in May 2017.
The open and welcoming building helps to better integrate the area into the urban environment and with the surrounding cultural heritage. The location has required a building of architectural quality that both enriches the urban environment and shows respect for the cultural-historical environment, while at the same time representing the entire modern Uppsala University.
The building is named after Torgny T:son Segerstedt (1908-1999), Vice-Chancellor of Uppsala University from 1955 to 1978. The building is a natural gathering place for employees, students and visitors.
