Alfred Nobels Allé 8 (ANA 8)

The building consists of six floors and a garage floor.

On level 3 there is the building's garage, bicycle room, storage/shelter room and installation spaces. Level 4 is the entrance level with the main entrance from Alfred Nobels Allé, library, café, lecture halls, classrooms and loading dock. On floor 5 is the building's entrance from the Blickagången, Clinical Training Center (KTC), shower, changing room and lounge, as well as a footbridge over to the narrow house's office premises. Floors 6-8 house the dental education's clinics as well as Framtiden's lab and offices. Level 9 in the narrow building is a conference floor with meeting rooms, seminar rooms and auditoriums as well as technology spaces.

Rules of conduct

It is not allowed to:

• Place furniture or stored items closer than 0.5m around fire detectors and sprinkler heads.
• Bring and use private electrical household appliances within Karolinska Institutet's premises.

Car parking

Parking takes place in public parking areas within the university campus. The building has a garage for tenants with a parking permit. Descent takes place from the gable towards Alfred Nobels Allé 8 B and accommodates parking spaces for cars, motorbikes and vehicles with a handicap permit. Parking permits are administered by the business.

Parking spaces for vehicles with a handicap permit are also available outside the main entrance, Alfred Nobels Allé 8.

Bicycle parking

Bicycle racks are available along Alfred Nobels Allé. A locked bicycle room is on floor 3 and can be accessed from the garage or stairwell C. Code provided by the business.

Some source sorting takes place locally on each floor. In the building's waste room, waste is sorted into different fractions. Access to the waste room is on floor 4. Collection takes place from loading dock Alfred Nobels Allé 8 B.

When receiving goods, the user is responsible for removing pallets and packaging.

The building has a total of 12 passenger lifts, four of which are transport lifts.

Elevators in case of fire

In the event of a fire, the elevators go to the entrance floor, drop off any passengers and are blocked for further travel. In the event of a fire on the entrance floor, the elevators are directed to an alternative evacuation floor.

The lifts must not be used in case of fire.

Emergency signal lifts

If an elevator stops between floors, the emergency signal button must be pressed for at least 15 seconds. Outside an alarming elevator, an alarm signal sounds and an emergency alarm with voice communication goes to a manned elevator call 24 hours a day.

Liquid nitrogen special run and priority run

Lift E must be used for special runs of liquid nitrogen gas and called up via access card. The elevator is loaded with liquid nitrogen gas and sent to the destination plane without accompanying person, stops there with closed doors and waits for the responsible person to open the doors via his access card and receive the goods. During transport with liquid nitrogen gas, no person may accompany you.

Lift E is equipped with a function for prioritized driving. This function is used when transporting e.g. chemical waste to the waste room and is activated via key switch.

In the case of special transports, the function of external call buttons is switched off.

Parking

There are dedicated garage spaces for vehicles with a handicap permit at Alfred Nobels Allé 8 B. Parking spaces for vehicles with a handicap permit are also available outside the main entrance at Alfred Nobels Allé 8.

Entrances and lifts

The building's entrances are accessible and all floors can be reached by elevator.

Dressing room level 5

In the changing rooms on floor 5, there is an accessible toilet equipped with a shower.

Educational Laboratory

Educational laboratories on level 8 are accessible.

Automatic fire alarm

There are smoke detectors in the building which automatically trigger a fire alarm in case of fire smoke. The signal to evacuate is sounded in sections via the siren and in some premises in combination with a red flashing light.

On floors 4 and 5, as well as in the dining and break rooms on floor 7, the signal to evacuate is given via a spoken evacuation message in Swedish and English.

The entire house is not evacuated at the same time, but evacuation takes place section by section according to the signal.

Fire cells

The buildings are divided into a number of fire cells to prevent fire and smoke from spreading. In the building, there are smoke curtains that go down automatically in the event of a fire alarm to create a smoke-free environment during evacuation. The smoke curtains are in the original building on floor 5 and by the internal stairs in the lab rooms on floors 7 and 8.

Doors in fire cell boundaries

When the evacuation alarm is activated, the doors close automatically.

Doors in fire cell boundaries must absolutely not be blocked by wedges or the like.

Escape routes

On each floor there are evacuation plans that show escape routes, deployed firefighting equipment, evacuation points in the event of a fire and assembly point. The escape routes are marked with green escape signs. Evacuation zones, stairwells and locks must be kept clear and must not contain flammable material.

The lifts must not be used in case of fire.

Escape doors

Green slanted emergency handles may only be used for emergency evacuation as the alarm is activated when passing.

Pressure deviation corridor and lock

The laboratory parts are made with a pressure difference between the corridor and the sluice to the lab. When the pressure drops when the door is opened, a local alarm is activated that signals the pressure deviation until the door is closed.

The alarm is local and is indicated on pressure sensors outside the room in question.

In the event of an alarm, the door must be closed. The pressure difference is restored when the door is closed and laboratory work can be carried out.

Ventilation alarm

In the event of a lack of ventilation in hoods and hoods, a local alarm with sound and light is activated. Alarms need to be reported to Akademiska Hus.

Alarm in case of other danger

In case of other danger, e.g. chemical spill, which requires evacuation, an alarm can be activated manually via blue push buttons. The push buttons are located in the lab corridor and activate an alarm within the block. The alarm is local and is indicated by sound and orange flashing light. Close doors to reduce spread of chemical spill. After quarters have been evacuated, only authorized personnel may enter the premises until cleanup has been carried out.

Generally

Lighting in entrances, stairwells and corridors is automatically controlled via time channel and via push buttons after a set time. Around the clock, a few luminaires are always on per floor, so-called led lighting.

One-person office

The lighting in one-person offices is controlled automatically via sensors for presence and daylight. The ceiling light can be dimmed via a pull switch on the light

Multi-person offices and meeting rooms

The lighting in multi-person offices and meeting rooms is divided into uplight and downlight. Via a spring-loaded push button by the door, the overhead light of the ceiling fixture can be switched on, off and dimmed.

Laboratories

The lighting in lab rooms is switched on and off manually via push buttons. When no one is in the room, the lighting is automatically switched off via absence sensors. Some laboratories have blackout curtains. These are controlled manually via push button.

Mattorg floor 7

In the food court, the lighting is operated via a push button panel for different lighting scenarios. Turn on by selecting the preset lighting scenario with the "1-4" buttons. Adjust the light via the up and down arrows. The lighting is turned off with button "0".

Reserve power test every month

On the first non-holiday Thursday of each month, Akademiska Hus conducts a reserve power test between 08:00 and 09:00.
