Kungliga Musikhögskolan
The Royal Academy of Music fulfills the requirements for Environmental Construction Silver. Miljöbyggnad is a certification system for creating environmentally sustainable buildings. It is based on Swedish building and authority regulations as well as Swedish construction practice. Environmental building is a certificate of important qualities of a building in terms of energy, indoor environment and materials and is used for newly produced and existing buildings regardless of size. In Environmental Construction, a building can achieve the bronze, silver or gold rating. Behind the certification stands the non-profit association Sweden Green Building Council (SGBC).
Being a tenant in a certified building means a responsibility in the use of the premises and the building to create the smallest possible environmental impact. In order for the property to be able to maintain the certification, it is important that you as a tenant know what applies. This house guide contains information about how the building works and tips on what you as a tenant can influence.

Accessible entrances

These entrances are additionally equipped with automatic opening devices and card readers at a suitable height.

Adjacent to the building are parking spaces intended for vehicles with a handicap permit. See campus map.

All floors can be reached by lift and all are adapted for wheelchair users.

Toilets adapted for wheelchair users are available on each floor, RWC, and are equipped with:
Security alarm
By pressing the red button, the alarm is indicated locally with a red flashing light and with a sound outside the respective toilet. The alarm is reset by pressing the green button. Security alarms are also available in rest rooms.
Note that the alarm is not forwarded.
Safety sensor
Doors are equipped with a safety sensor adapted to avoid any risk of crushing. The door does not open when there are obstacles in the opening direction.
Akademiska hus is responsible for handling household waste and KMH and DIS for the other factions. Tenants themselves are responsible for removing pallets and packaging.
On each floor, recycled paper is sorted locally and some source sorting takes place in the kitchenette and lunchroom.
The indoor climate is controlled automatically via the building's technical system. In the form of ventilation and radiator systems.
Ventilation
The ventilation normally runs during the day. In all rooms, the air flow increases/decreases via temperature and air quality. In some cases, it is controlled with regard to presence in the room, so it can take a while before the climate is good in the room after being empty for a long time.
Heat
The house has a water-borne heating system with radiators and can be regulated via a thermostat on the radiator.

Evacuation
If the fire alarm goes off, evacuate the house according to evacuation signs. Fire doors close automatically to prevent smoke from spreading. The existing lifts must not be used in the event of a fire alarm.
Gathering place for KMH is the large oak tree outside the main entrance.
Emergency alarm from elevators
In elevators, there is an alarm button that goes to the alarm center, even outside normal working hours. The elevators are equipped with emergency telephones that have voice communication capabilities 24 hours a day. Pressing the alarm button sounds a signal outside the elevator in the building.
Lighting
In order to save energy, the building's lighting system is predominantly performed presence-controlled. This causes the lighting to switch on and off automatically.
Fluorescent lamps are generally made with high-frequency devices (HF devices) that provide flicker-free lighting. Some fixtures in escape routes are connected to uninterruptible power such as led/emergency lighting and
turns on automatically in the event of a power failure.
Exterior lighting
Lighting in entrances, windbreaks and exterior lighting is switched on and off automatically via a centrally installed light relay in combination with a time function.
Classrooms
Classrooms strive to have an active ignition by pressing a button. Switching off may also require a button press, but if the lamp does not switch off, it is set to switch off when there is no one in the room.
The switch-off takes place on absence, in some cases switch-off is required on the button.
Main entrances, adapted for people in wheelchairs
In front of the main entrances, the surface is hardened and the slope is adapted for people with reduced mobility. Next to revolving doors, there are doors equipped with automatic door openers. Parking spaces intended for the disabled can be found within 25 meters of the main entrance.
Elevator
There is a total of one (1) passenger lift in the building. All floors can be reached via the elevator, with a wheelchair. Free passage through the entrance is at least 84 cm.

• Bright and clear lighting
• Alarm button and emergency phone
• Tutor and mirror
RWC
There is access to RWC in the building. The toilet has:
• Free passage size greater than 84 cm
• Reference sign on door
• Pull handle on the inside of the door
• Working alarm
• Folding armrests at the toilet seat
