General information

Completed in October 2013 and named Building of the Year 2014, Aula Medica, with its triangular shape and facade consisting of 6,000 panes of glass, is an impressive property on Campus Solna, which otherwise largely consists of brick buildings. With its location along Solnavägen, facing the Karolinska University Hospital, it is clearly visible to everyone passing by, and the facade's slope of at most 33 degrees and the overhang of 23 meters over Solnavägen really make it stand out.

Aula Medica contains an auditorium (Erling Perssonalen, named after H&M founder Erling Persson) with 1,000 seats, offices for around 100 people and 100 conference seats. In addition, there are two restaurants and a café where researchers, businessmen and students mingle. Nobel lectures, scientific symposia, academic ceremonies and conferences have been organized here, which help to gather people from all over the world.
