General information
The yellow villa was designed by the architect Adolf Wilhelm Edelsvärd (1824-1919) and built in 1883 for the superintendent Abraham Forssell at the Royal Agricultural Academy, who used the building for residential purposes. Jakob Eriksson, botanist was the next person to live in the villa and used the house as a laboratory. During this period, legendary parties were held in the Villa where, among others, Svante Arrhenius used to attend. When Eriksson retired a few years later, other researchers lived in the villa, including Olof Arrhenius. Currently, the Faculty of Humanities and the Humanities Association use it as a study and meeting room.
