General information
Blom's house was designed by the architect Fredrik Blom (1781-1853), and was inaugurated in 1838. The house was built for various purposes. The Agricultural Academy's collections of agricultural and household implements occupied the ground floor together with a residence for the Experimental Field's inspector. On the second floor was the academy's ceremonial hall. The building was also for a time used to preserve various agricultural implements, seed collections and grain for educational purposes. Today, the university's management, as well as the Rector's office with three secretariats, sit here.
