General information

In 1997, the Aula Magna at Frescati was inaugurated. The auditorium has a total of seven floors and is sandwiched between the Allhuset and Juristernas hus on the central campus. The impressive building was created by Ralph Erskine together with his collaborator Lars Wilson. The amphitheatre-shaped auditorium can accommodate 1,200 people, but can be divided into two smaller halls. A hallmark of the Aula Magna are the five huge solar reflectors that are found on the roof and are visible from afar. The reflectors reflect the sunlight down into the room and are a model created by Erskine.
