General information
The Wallenberg laboratory was designed by the architect Lars Myrenberg (1992-1974) and was built through funding from the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation. The building was inaugurated in 1970. The first tenants who moved into the building were prominent natural science researchers without their own institutions, and then a research group in biochemical toxicology moved in.
The Wallenberg laboratory hides a small spice garden at the back where, among other things, tarragon, scallion, chicory, St. John's wort, lemon balm and parsley grow.
Today, the Department of Archeology and Ancient Culture and the Center for Evolutionary Cultural Research are located here.
