Umeå
Error report:
Is something wrong in your house? Submit an error report to Akademiska Hus via the app or on our website. Enter any room number when reporting a fault. The room number is indicated on the door post.
In case of urgent errors outside normal working hours (Monday-Friday, 07.30-16.00) you can call the emergency number 070-510 10 02.
Locking:
The house is equipped with a time-controlled central locking system. In addition to regular working hours, an access card with a code is required for access.
When exiting through locked doors, press the button with the key symbol located next to the door. Also make sure the door locks.
In the garbage room, there are separate containers for glass, paper, batteries, other garbage and hazardous waste. Separate garbage rooms for isotope waste, with room numbers B1.23.01 and A1.09.01, are located in the culvert level. Chemical waste is left in the chemical safety house. Akademiska Hus is responsible for emptying waste rooms.
The tenant is responsible for removing bulky waste, pallets and larger packaging.
Generally
Lighting in common premises, e.g. corridors, entrance and exterior lighting is controlled by a central clock and light relay. The lighting in the corridors (cleaning lighting) can also be started via a timer in the janitor's office. Some led lighting is always on.
Office
The lighting in offices and labs is either presence controlled or switched on via push buttons.
Stairs and corridors
The lighting is switched on in the morning and switched off in the evening by a central clock. The lighting can also be switched on via a push button and is then switched on for a set time.
Fire
A fire alarm (signal sounds) is installed in the building and the alarm goes directly to the emergency services and 112.
If the fire alarm goes off, evacuate the house according to posted signs and evacuation plans. Fire doors set up with magnets close automatically in the event of an alarm, to prevent the spread of fire and smoke.

• save yourself and others around you, but don't take too many risks yourself
• warn others who may be in danger
• alert the Emergency Services by calling 112
• put out the fire if possible
Fire sectioned doors in corridors and towards escape routes that are not set up with magnets connected to the fire alarm must always be kept closed to prevent the spread of fire and smoke.
Escape routes/ Assembly point
See evacuation plans in corridors.
The stairwells form independent escape routes. Two stairwells can be reached from each workplace. The escape routes, which are marked with green luminous escape signs, must never be blocked. The green signs are always lit and have a battery backup to illuminate even in the event of a power cut.
If the fire alarm is triggered, all personnel must leave the building, close all doors behind them and gather at the assembly point (See the respective evacuation plan). The staff reports there to the evacuation recipient and leaves their name and group affiliation or equivalent. No one may depart from the assembly point until this is done.
Flammable equipment
The installation of flammable equipment or the setting up of gas bottles with flammable gases may only take place after contacting Akademiska Hus, which in turn has a duty to notify the fire brigade.
As a user, you are responsible for gas bottles being labeled and fire-fighting equipment required for the business being procured.
Person and elevator alarms
The option to send an emergency signal is available in lifts, disabled toilets and rest rooms. When the push button is held down for more than 15 seconds, a signal sounds outside the door and an alarm is sent to Akademiska Hus. After regular working hours, alarms are sent to on-call staff or security guards.
Alarms are reset by operating personnel.
Coverage
Remember to lock your room when it is empty, and not to keep things that are prone to theft in the room.
At night, the building is guarded by guards.
If you see people you don't know, ask who they are and what they are doing on the premises. Be prepared to show identification if you are staying on the premises.
Heat
The house has a so-called waterborne heating system for heating elements on the outer walls. If it is cold in the room, check that the valve next to or under the element is open before reporting a fault.
The desired temperature is set using a thermostat placed on the element or, if available, via a room sensor placed on the wall.
Cold
Some rooms with a high heat load are cooled with cooling beams placed in the ceiling. The temperature is then controlled via a room sensor. In rooms where cooling beams are installed, the desired temperature can be set on the room regulator, which is placed on the wall.
Car parking
Parking spaces intended for vehicles with a handicap permit can be found close to the main entrance. Please see Campus map .
Entrances and lifts
The entrances are accessible and all floors can be reached via lift.
RWC
Toilets adapted for the disabled are available on each floor. At the RWC there are security alarms with red push buttons labeled "emergency signal". Alarms are reset inside each room by pressing the reset button.
Generally
The general (e.g. office and toilet) ventilation in the high-rise parts is started/stopped by a central clock located in Akademiska Hus' operations center. Hoods and some sensitive rooms, however, have continuous basic ventilation.
The ventilation in the lower part (C) is started/stopped by a central clock, located in the Akademiska Hus operations center, at other times the ventilation can also be started by a timer ("overtime"). The ventilation then runs according to the set time.
The ventilation in Unimeg (D) is started/stopped by a central clock, located in Akademiska Hus' operations center.
The ventilation in the Combustion House runs at forced speed during the day and normal speed the rest of the time. At other times, the ventilation can also be forced by activating a timer in the lab rooms.
It is allowed to ventilate the room by opening the windows, only these are closed when the room is left!
However, remember not to open windows during the evening and weekends, when the building is normally locked, as this could trigger an alarm!
Lab ventilation
Hoods fitted with a green sign have permanent forced ventilation.
On fume hoods equipped with a yellow sign, the push button must be activated in order for the ventilation to be forced. The ventilation of the fume cupboard returns to basic flow at 08:00 and 17:00. If the hood is to be used again, the push button must be activated again.
In the event of a fault with the fume cupboard ventilation, a signal sounds in each corridor (the high-rise parts).
