Some dead poplars needed to be cut down at the Ecology House.
There was a risk that they would fall over the catenary to the light rail and smaller branches risked falling onto footpaths and cycle paths.
The wood after the trees has been saved on the site to benefit insects and contribute to the biological diversity of the area. Some taller stumps have also been saved for the same purpose. The collaboration was done together with Mikael Sörensson, PhD student, Functional Zoology.
