Campus

EBC / Kv. Lagerträdet

Campus info

Welcome to EBC and the Lagerträdet block in the Kåbo district. This campus is strategically located near the Botanical Garden, the Blåsenhus area, and the English Park. Here, you will find a well-integrated campus where three architecturally distinct periods are represented, creating a harmonious architectural ensemble. The large central courtyard, with its green spaces and monumental buildings at each end, contributes to the campus's cohesive strength.

Area and Properties

Large, old buildings require extensive work to limit energy consumption. Together with the university, we continuously strive to achieve energy efficiency in our properties. When the university vacated Building 10 on campus, we sold the property, which has since been converted into research residences.

Within the Lagerträdet block, the Zoology and Paleontology museums were constructed during the first half of the 20th century. In the 1950s and 1960s, additional buildings for geography, geology, and limnology were added. Today, these buildings house the Evolutionary Biology Centre, where both research and public activities take place. A large grassy area stretches between the buildings and is part of the architectural heritage. The red-brick buildings from the 1950s and 1960s surrounding the area contribute to its character, even though they are not designated as architectural landmarks.
