Lilla Lugnet

General information

Lilla Lugnet is a one-story wooden house. The facade is paneled and colored red. Lilla Lugnet became a building monument on 6 March 1995 according to the Cultural Heritage Act.

It is a one-story wooden house. The facade is covered with panels and is colored red. In the vicinity of Lugnet, there used to be a stable meadow. It had been built to replace the old governor's stable on Övre Slottsgatan, which was demolished to make way for Carolina Rediviva in the early 1800s. In 1922, Lilla Lugnet passed from the governor to the board of prisons. Lilla Lugnet has a considerable age and an archaic appearance. The house has a cultural-historical value, as it belonged to the governor's residence. Lilla Lugnet was declared a state building monument in 1993. After Akademiska Hus AB took over ownership, Lugnet became a building monument according to the Cultural Heritage Act on March 6, 1995.
