General information
The Ångström Laboratory is a central part of Uppsala University and is considered one of Europes most advanced laboratories for material research. The campus is an internationally renowned part of the Akademiska Hus property portfolio, and it represents the universitys strong focus on high-quality research and education. Here, prospective civil and higher education engineers and natural scientists have access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources that support their academic and professional development.
The campus is designed to meet the high demands of the business on premises and environment. It houses Swedens largest cleanroom, which is of high international standard. Parts of the cleanroom facility are built on a vibration-free concrete slab that is separate from the rest of the building structure. Special measures minimize electrical and magnetic fields, and to ensure the power supply to computers, cleanrooms, electron microscopes and ovens, there is a backup power unit. There are separate sewage systems for wastewater, process water, acid and solvents.
