General information
At the Ångström Laboratory, physicists, chemists, materials scientists and technicians work together in one of Europe's most modern centers for research and education about materials. Researchers from different fields contribute their specialist knowledge in many different interdisciplinary projects.
The building is designed to meet the business's high demands on premises and environment. Here is Sweden's largest clean room that maintains a high international standard. Parts of the clean room facility are built on a vibration-free concrete slab that is separate from the rest of the building frame. Through special measures, electric and magnetic fields are minimized and to ensure the power supply to computers, clean rooms, electron microscopes and ovens there is a backup power unit. There are separate sewage systems for waste water, process water, acid and solvents.
