Together with Lund University, Akademiska Hus is investigating the possibilities of creating a social science centre in the Paradis block with new, attractive and long-term sustainable learning environments for the Faculty of Social Sciences through renovation and new construction.
There are still many steps left in the process before a final decision to carry out the construction is made, but together with the University and the City of Lund, Akademiska Hus is working to create a social science centre where the Faculty of Social Sciences can gather in new, purpose-built premises in the Paradis block.
Between May-August 2021, the detailed plan for the Paradis block was subject to consultation, and you can read the documents on Lund municipality's website.
The images and renderings that exist of the newly built house on the site are so-called "volume sketches", which are only supposed to show the potential size of the house in relation to its surroundings. The façade and details of the house have not yet been decided.
The planned new building is intended to serve as an arena and meeting place for staff, students and teachers, but also to integrate the university even more with the city. café, classrooms and study places. It will also include an audience space for social science debates and presentations, as well as spaces for exhibitions.
