Campus development

We develop student and researcher housing

Together with our customers, we are planning for sustainable campus areas that meet the local need for student and researcher housing. We do this by creating innovative homes for a sustainable quality of life. We support and run innovation projects to find new services and sustainable forms of housing for students and researchers.

Important piece of the puzzle for campus

By providing accommodation for students and researchers, we increase the competitiveness of higher education institutions and create vibrant campus areas. We know that students and researchers are individuals with different needs. Therefore, we work with a variety of individual and shared forms of housing and design our housing based on the needs of each location and university.

Advantages of shared living

A fundamental part of our concept for studenthousing is to combine private spaces with shared facilities. We create environments that provide space for both the individual's integrity and at the same time enable social interaction. In addition to social and economic benefits, shared living is also a way to reduce the climate footprint.  

Office converted into student housing

We must reduce the proportion of new construction to cope with the green transition. Converting an office building into housing is a good example of this. We have done this , for example , through the Språkskrapan project on campus Näckrosen, in the middle of central Gothenburg.

How to get in the queue for our student housing

Akademiska Hus builds and owns student housing, but we are not the ones who rent out the apartments to students and researchers. We rent out our entire student housing buildings to block renters and it is through them that students rent the apartments.
