An irregularity can entail both a serious breach of the law and a breach of Akademiska Hus' internal business ethics guidelines. Examples of irregularities are violations of competition law, corruption, economic crime, theft and environmental crime.
Procedure for reporting
Akademiska Hus has commissioned Moll Wendén Advokatbyrå to act as whistleblower counsel and thus be the recipient of reports made by Akademiska Hus' partners where the complainant wishes to remain anonymous or does not consider other channels within Akademiska Hus to be suitable. The staff of the whistleblower representative are covered by legal confidentiality.
Handling of reports
People who draw attention to and raise the alarm about problems and irregularities should not suffer any reprisals or negative consequences. Anyone who raises the alarm will be treated with respect and taken seriously. The person who raises the alarm will also receive information about how the matter is dealt with further and what the alarm results in.
The person who is the subject of the alarm also has the right to proper treatment. As far as possible, affected persons must be informed that an alarm has been received and also be given the opportunity to provide an explanation for what has happened.
After an irregularity has been reported, the facts surrounding the alarm are primarily investigated. The content of the alarm determines who is suitable to be responsible for the investigation. When the circumstances surrounding a certain irregularity have been investigated, the company's management is responsible for taking action based on what has emerged.
Irregularities that involve violations of the law are reported to the police.
