Welcome to Kungsbäck! Here you will find the University of Gävle, beautifully situated by the Gävleån river. The university is located within easy walking and cycling distance of the city centre. Nearby are Regementsparken, Boulonge Park and Teknikparken, where a large part of Gävle's business community is gathered.

When the Hälsinge Regiment I14 at Kungsbäck was disbanded, a significant transformation of the old barracks area began. This area, formerly a military installation, started to be converted into a modern campus environment for higher education and research. The work of adapting the old buildings for the new activities was extensive and required careful planning and execution.
The transformation from a military regiment to an educational center has had a major impact on the area and its surroundings. The University of Gävle has since grown and developed, and the campus area at Kungsbäck has become a central place for education and research in the region. This has also contributed to the city's development and attractiveness as a place for students and academics.
Here's how to get to University of Gävle
On campus there is a wide range of services, study places, restaurants and cafes. The campus area offers plenty of creative outdoor environments and meeting places.
Parking spaces for cars and bicycles are available in the area. The parking spaces are marked on the parking map .

A fee must be paid for all public parking spaces at the University of Gävle. There is an option to pay via the "Mobilpark" app, or to pay for a parking ticket in the machines in the area. A special permit is required for a disabled seat and there is no fee. The engine heater spaces are rented out by staff at the University of Gävle and special permission is required to stand there.
Visitors
To park as a visitor, a parking ticket needs to be redeemed in either a machine or the "Mobilpark" app. Currently, the rate is SEK 5/hour. Contact Aimo Park for questions about parking and administration.
Employees and students
To park at the staff/student rate, a valid parking permit is required, which must be clearly visible in the windscreen. Currently, the rate is SEK 5/hour with a maximum rate of SEK 10/day. It is possible to buy a 30-day ticket in the app or in the machines. Contact Aimo Park for questions about parking and administration.
In the area there are over 1000 bicycle parking spaces and plenty of cycle paths.

By train and bus : Gävle is served by Upptåget on the route Uppsala-Tierp-Skutskär-Gävle and the X-train operates on the routes Sundsvall-Gävle and Ljusdal-Gävle. From the train you can take bus no. 15 to the University of Gävle. The bus stops on Kungsbäcksvägen outside the University. The journey takes about 10 minutes.
By car: The University of Gävle can be reached by car and parking is available in the area. Here you will find the current parking map .
There is plenty of bicycle parking in the area. Akademiska also offers an air station in the area.
