Welcome to Campus Näckrosen! Between Avenyn and Korsvägen in the middle of central Gothenburg, there is a cohesive campus in a green environment around Näckrosdammen. The area is in the middle of a transformation where the goal is to create a park for the humanities, art and culture where collaboration within the university and with the surrounding city is central.
Humanisten, University of Gothenburg
The area and buildings
The area, which dates back to the 1923 World's Fair, has undergone several transformations over time. The Old Court of Appeal (Gamla Hovrätten) is the oldest building, built in 1947, and Humanisten is the latest addition, the extension of which was completed in 2019. The area also has student and researcher housing in the recently rebuilt Språkskrapan. The Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts is also based here in Artisten, which is currently undergoing extensive renovation and in additional new buildings that together will be named Konstnärliga.
