Information about parking at Karlstad University
Parking fees at the university will be adjusted to better reflect other parking fees in the area, some fees will be increased and others will be retained. The new tariffs will take effect from 1 August 2021. Parking behind the library and closest in front of house 21 Only hourly tickets can be purchased at these car parks. The parking fee is increased to SEK 4 / h. The short-term parking on the lines closest to the library is retained, and here the new parking fee will be SEK 20 / h. North and south parking lot Monthly tickets will still be available for purchase in the north car park (north of house 11) and the south car park (south of house 9E). The same ticket works in both parking lots. The monthly fee is increased to SEK 250. The hourly price for these car parks is increased to SEK 3 / h. Please note that night parking is not permitted. The gravel parking lot north of Forest Hill The gravel parking lot north of the university will maintain the same rate of SEK 1 / h. The parking lot behind the Students' House The parking behind Studenternas hus remains at SEK 5 / h. Charging sites electric cars The fee for all charging stations remains at SEK 15 / h incl. Electricity. Ticket-free parking machines and app Parking machines are ticketless and a parking app can be used. Instead of a ticket, you can register your registration number in the vending machines. The app used is MobilPark from Aimo Park. This app is free of charge and it is the same rate as in the vending machines. We recommend that you use the app because you will then also check out earlier or extend the parking time. Energy work
We have done a great deal of energy work that has been going on throughout 2020 and is now finally completed. With the help of Karlstad University and Entelios, we have received support to carry out this work, which you can read about in the attached document. We have reduced energy production for this project by approximately 160,000 kWh in total, where we have, among other things, replaced fan motors. That is the annual consumption of about 8 normal-sized villas together. Contact us for more information about this project.
