Inauguration of the artwork "Stream"

On November 27, it is time to inaugurate Izabel Lind Färnstrand's exciting and interactive artwork "Stream", which is located outside the Lab at Örebro University. Stream is a digital sculpture that live-streams the activity on Campus Örebro. The data the sculpture uses comes from the thousands of sensors deployed in the area. The work can be seen as a self-portrait of Örebro University where the sensors, among other things, reproduce the movement or stillness of the places, how people meet. There is a focus on color, intensity, transitions and speed, similar to a heatmap or waves. It is not the number of people that is measured, but the movement, i.e. the energy and atmosphere at different times during the day. Speaking during the event will be Izabel Lind Färnstrand, artist and representatives from Örebro University, Akademiska Hus and the Norwegian Arts Council. Warm welcome! When: November 27 at 4:15 p.m Where: Outside the Lab, Örebro University How: Register with Anneli Frisk: anneli.frisk@akademiskahus.se no later than November 22This text has been automatically translated, and some inaccuracies may be present.

Reduced ventilation times this summer for a reduced climate impact

Applies to the Technology and Entrance Hall: As part of our joint work to reduce Örebro University's climate impact and further reduce our need for energy, we will test reducing the basic ventilation during the holiday months in the Technology and Entrance Hall. We do this now because there are fewer people on campus during the summer while we use large amounts of energy to cool the houses. Start the ventilation manually using the blue button (picture number two above) The ventilation will run from 07:00 to 11:00 every weekday during the period 26 June - 4 August. If you are there the rest of the time, the ventilation can be started with the blue button. The ventilation is then started for two hours from the push of a button, regardless of the time of day. As there are several different ventilation units in the houses, you must use the button that is closest to your workplace. The idea is not that it will be a worse indoor climate for you, but that you use the buttons when you are in place. After the summer, we will evaluate how things have worked in the houses and how energy use has been affected. Please pass this on to your colleagues who will be working during the summer and please contact us at Akademiska Hus if you have any questions.
