Akademiska Hus purchases buildings in central Stockholm

Wednesday, 25 October 2023

Akademiska Hus köper byggnader i centrala Stockholm.

Akademiska Hus has signed an agreement with RISE (Research Institutes of Sweden) to acquire three buildings as part of the site leasehold rights within the Stockholm Forskningen 1 property at the KTH Campus on Östermalm in Stockholm. The purchase will be accomplished through a company acquisition at an agreed building value of SEK 105 million.

The three buildings line the main thoroughfare of the campus, Drottning Kristinas väg, and, like the entire KTH Campus, are strategically located close to Stockholm city centre. The buildings have a combined total area of approximately 4,300 square metres, which RISE currently uses mainly for office and laboratory facilities. They are directly adjacent to the main building that Akademiska Hus already owns and leases to RISE.

“With its research, test beds and close collaboration with industry, RISE strengthens the knowledge cluster at KTH Campus. As owner of the entire RISE block, we can now take overall responsibility for the premises,” says Anna Alsborger, facilities manager at Akademiska Hus.

Akademiska Hus take possession of the three buildings on 25 October 2023.
